While it is well known that dolphins travel in pods, this mega-pod seen traversing the waters off of California is a rarity. Eyewitnesses estimated that there were over 100,000 dolphins, and the area they encompassed, seven miles long, five miles wide. Wow. Wish I could have been there.

Money for the Taking in the Niger Delta Swamps
By WHITNEY RICHARDSON
When
night falls on the Niger Delta, hundreds of people set sail on
hand-made wooden boats toward the oil pumps jutting out along the swampy
creeks. Clouds of smoke float in the night air. Makeshift fuel
refineries — with the same machines once used to distill palm oil into
gin — begin churning crude oil into diesel fuel.
The intricate process is illegal and comes with extreme risks. Workers — mostly men — spend hours in intense heat, inhaling toxic fumes from the simmering crude oil. They work quietly and move steadily throughout the night. As dawn approaches, the refined oil is poured into oil drums and shipped downriver to be sold on the Nigerian black market. The machines go silent before daylight. The smoke slowly clears.
For the last 50 years, the Niger Delta’s multibillion-dollar oil trade has been the cause of intense conflict, legal debates and deep mistrust between the big oil companies and local residents who feel betrayed by the Nigerian government for not profiting from the lucrative industry. Almost 90 percent of those living along the delta survive on less than $1 a day. Many find the clandestine oil trade, even with the risk of prison or death, is the only way to support their family.
The long battle between residents of the delta and the major oil companies piqued the interest of Samuel James, a photographer who had documented youth gangs in the slums of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2008. He was awarded a grant through VII Photo Agency to continue his photo series “Area Boys,” which allowed him to develop close relationships with the youths. In time, he gained access to an underground scene that very few see of Nigerian gang life, street culture and the illegal oil trade. In a terrain where economic stakes are high and conflict can quickly erupt, Mr. James credits his ability to navigate between different social and economic cultures in Nigeria to one thing: respect.

Small Victories: Recusal of a Judge
For over eight years my ex-husband has been harassing me through the court system. Day after day I've lived in fear of his next move. The next move being pleadings filed that encased lie after lie. The contortion of facts that, ones, that should actually have proved him to be the one the Courts should be questioning - not to mention the Department of Children and Families that were called on behalf of my children's safety, sanity, security, and all over well-being.
Well, today, I finally pulled the rabbit out of the hat, and demanded of the Court that Judge Curtis J. Neal, Fifth Judicial Circuit, Hernando County, recuse himself from the case as he was incapable of following the laws of the State of Florida, and, incapable of making impartial decisions (he formerly entered orders against me that fell outside of the Florida Statutes, as well as Florida Supreme Court findings). Thank you Dale L. Bernstein, Esq. for the legal knowledge I gained during the 10 +/- years I worked for you and your firm.
I WON!!! After the Judge repeatedly attempted to pawn me off to excuses of "not signed, didn't receive in time," etc., my response, "Sir, in accordance with Florida Statutes, 38.10, once an affidavit, or request for recusal is submitted, the 'judge shall proceed no further.'" Well, that left the Judge with no option but to shut his mouth, and close out the hearing. Counsel for my ex-husband, Chris Ragano, Esq. left with no option other than to say, "No your Honor. Thank you for letting me appear telephonically," and my ex-husband, hopefully, "shitting" his pants - sorry for the profanity, but so highly appropriate at this moment in time.
The truth will always prevail. Never Give up. Never give in. Fight until you can't fight anymore, and YOU WILL WIN.
While the following isn't footage of the Judge recused today, it's a great example.

Chemical Poisoning: Corexit 9527 and 9500
Chemical poisoning from Exposure to Corexit 9527 (2-butoxyethanol +) and/or Corexit 9500 following the BP Deepwater Horizon oil disaster, April 20, 2010?
The towel he holds is stained with merely a portion of the blood he coughed out of his lungs on the way to hospital. After being tested for Tuberculosis, with negative results, the hospital staff, ER doctors, Radiologists, and Serologists, all told him "We can't see anything wrong with you," and, was sent home without treatment.
Had his girlfriend not shown up to check on him during the night, he would have died. For as he slept, his lungs continued to bleed profusely, nearly causing him to drown in his own fluids.
It was not until two months later, after gathering his medical records, and taking them to another doctor, did he find out what had really happened to him.
This is what happened to merely one individual who, unknowingly, was exposed to nearly deadly levels of Corexit 9527 and 9500 mixed with Louisiana crude oil while kayaking the waters off of Cedar Key, Florida during the month of April, 2011.
This poses two very important questions:
- Is exposure to the toxic levels of Corexit 9527 and 9500 causing unthinkable ailments in Gulf side residents? Is the food chain in the Gulf of Mexico now tainted due to continued exposure to the toxic cocktail of Corexit + Crude Oil (which is, as referenced in some reports, nearly 52 times more deadly than before the combining of the two)?
- Will continued exposure, whether through breathing the salt air, basking on the Gulf beaches where Corexit foam-filled tides lap at the shore daily, and/or eating the seafood (in particular crustaceans and bivavles - bottom dwellers) continue to make those who are already sick even more ill, and all the while sickening those who, based on the Government's promises that the Gulf waters and seafood are safe, chose, and will choose, to vacation on the rim of this toxic cesspool?

The Orkin Man: Where Was He When I Needed Him?
Most had not even heard of the species of parasite which numbers in the range of 4,500+ different, identifiable forms of pests which will truly ruin your life, if not take it from you altogether.
While the Orkin Man may have his almighty "spray gun," filled with noxious potions "guaranteed" to take care of your pest problem, ridding your home and surrounding property of these nuisances takes a lot more than ANY of the hundreds of pesticides available by your local pest control "SPECIALIST," or the do-it-yourself, Home Depots in the world.

Springtails: Facts, Identification & Control
The latest in Springtail eradication, the Orkin woman. Truly what is needed. |
Springtails do not bite or sting people. They do not damage buildings or the contents. They develop quickly. It is common to find springtails in very large numbers. The fact that there can be thousands of jumping insects in an area can be very distressing to homeowners.
When the dampness is corrected, the springtails disappear very quickly. Eliminating dampness is very important in preventing or eliminating springtails. A thorough inspection is the first step.
If springtails have been a problem in the kitchen, start inspecting under the sink. Empty the cabinet and check the drainpipe. If it has been leaking, there could be mold or mildew present. Dry the cabinet completely to eliminate the mildew and the springtails.
If springtails have been active in the bathroom, start the inspection under the sink. Also inspect the trap behind the tub for leaking pipes. Examine tile walls carefully. If there is missing grout, mildew can develop behind the tiles.
In the basement, check the walls for dampness. It may be necessary to get a waterproofing compound for the basement walls. The specialists at the home store can point out the right product. A dehumidifier can be helpful to get rid of dampness in a basement.
During the outside inspection, look for places where springtails could hide. Stack firewood up off of the ground and move it away from the house. Move mulch away from the foundation. Create a zone next to the foundation that is 6” to 12” wide. If the zone is dry and free of leaves and mulch, springtails and other pests will avoid it.
Make sure gutters are cleaned out. Downspouts should drain away from the foundation. If necessary, trim tree limbs that cause damp shady areas near the foundation.
Check exterior doors to be sure they close properly. Replace weather-stripping that is missing or damaged. Check crawlspace vents to be sure they are open to allow air circulation. Access openings into crawl spaces should have a door that closes tightly.
When the dampness has been eliminated, the springtails will leave quickly or they will die.
If the dampness cannot be eliminated, it may be necessary to apply a residual insecticide. The choice of dust, liquid, or aerosol will depend on the location and the surface that needs to be treated. Because of factors like moisture and temperature, the barrier will need to be re-applied periodically. The local pest control professional can choose the proper formulation and make insecticide applications.

Baking Soda: The Cure for Cancer???
I've always known that exactly what we need to prevent and cure
disease is here on Earth in the purest of forms. The pharmaceutical
industry, however, doesn't want anyone to know just how simple it can
be to cure yourself of cancer as well as other serious, and
not-so-serious ailments like the flu. The following link to research by
Dr. Mark Sircus proves my point. Quick, run to the store and stock up
before everyone else finds out! It's as simple as that.

Did You Suffer Economic Loss Due to BP? There's Still Hope
Well, thank the powers that be, for now you too can file for your piece of the BP economic hardship pie if you experienced a financial loss following the April 20, 2010 oil disaster.
**************************
New settlement rules for BP claims approved by the United States District Court Eastern District of Louisiana on December 22, 2012. These new rules remove the requirement for a causal link for business losses.
(Newswire.net – February 3, 2013) Tampa, FL -- “The most important aspect of the new rules is that you no longer have to show a direct relationship between your business losses in 2010 and the BP oil spill itself. You merely have to show that losses occurred, for whatever reason, after the spill on April 20, 2010. Several patterns and benchmarks are available for us to use to file a claim for you” says Attorney Richard Mitzel.
Richard Mitzel, a Tampa Bay attorney, wants to make sure that area businesses are made aware of this valuable information concerning the new and expanded BP Settlement Procedures.
While Tampa Bay did not see any oil reach its beaches, all types of businesses were impacted by the ripple effect of the significant drop in tourism in the area. Trades people, realtors, plumbers, doctors, chiropractors, accountants, veterinarians, etc., need to take a close look at this matter. Retail businesses as well should take note.
Second chance - even if they had a BP oil spill claim denied previously, many businesses will now qualify under the new rules.
While the procedure under the new rules is just as cumbersome as before, valid claims are now being paid in as little as 60 to 90 days, where in the past, they were routinely denied because of the lack of relationship to the oil spill.
To help local businesses determine if they qualify to file a claim, Mr. Mitzel has created a worksheet that can be downloaded and filled out.
According to Attorney Mitzel, “So far, it looks like 2 out of 3 clients whose income information we review, are likely to qualify and receive a check within 60 to 90 days, after we process their claim.”
The eligible counties are: Bay, Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, Dixie, Escambia, Franklin, Gulf, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lee, Levy, Manatee, Monroe, Okaloosa, Pasco, Pinellas, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, Taylor, Wakulla and Walton.

New Hope: The World's Best Kept Skin Secrets in a "Bottle."
I am probably one of the luckiest people in this world we "live" in - actually a toxic bombshell, but read on.
A good friend of mine, met through my soul mate and best friend, provided me today with her completely hand-made, organic, TRULY OF THIS EARTH, skin care line - soap, body balm, "lotion jar in a bar."
As much as I believe in her, I believe in her product line. Having already tried some of her potions, seated in small jars atop most surfaces in her home, I KNOW that in a few days, my skin, my aura, will be changed for the better, forever.
Just the overwhelming scent of the balms, soaps and creams she keeps in every nook and cranny of her home perfumes the air, and brings reason to a scrambled mind.
New Hope 1, from espbotanicals.com, Ms. Trisha Springstead, is going to prove to be the hero I needed in my last hour.
Thank you for the gift you've given. It truly is going to change me for the better. I KNOW THIS.
